Twonk is a small public timeline at twonk.me, also available as an iPhone app.
What we store
- Your handle and a hashed password (we cannot read your password).
- An optional bio (up to 5 words) and a chosen avatar.
- Twonks you post (up to 10 words) and any image you attach.
- A login cookie on your device so you stay signed in.
- If you allow notifications on iPhone, a device token so we can send a ping when someone else posts.
What is public
Twonks, handles, bios, avatars, and attached images are public. You do not need an account to read them. Anyone can open the timeline, a profile URL such as twonk.me/u/handle, or a twonk URL such as twonk.me/p/id, including people who are not signed in. Search engines and anyone with the link can see them. Do not post anything you want to keep private.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not use tracking pixels or analytics SDKs in the app.
Where it lives
The site and stored data are hosted in Europe on 123-reg. The iPhone app talks only to twonk.me over HTTPS.
How long
Account and post data stay until you delete your account or they are removed for violating the Terms of Use. You can permanently delete your account from Profile in the iPhone app or on this website. Deletion removes your handle, posts, photos, follows, and login sessions. Sign-out only clears the login cookie on that device.
Safety
Twonk filters blocked terms, lets you flag twonks and block people, and the operator acts on reports within 24 hours. See the Terms of Use.
